Valentine Fun

In hopes of creating fun childhood memories for Joshua, we had friends over to decorate cookies yesterday. For some reason, Joshua had to eat half of the cookie before he started decorating. He also went a little overboard with the sprinkles. Here is some of his handiwork....

Someone decided to give a cookie to Elise (at least he is sharing with his sister). I found her in the hallway enjoying a cookie.

History of Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day has always been a favorite of mine. Opinions and Origins of the legend of St. Valentine vary. According to the story, St. Valentine was a priest who served during third century Rome. There was an Emperor at that time that decided that single men made better soldiers than those that were married. With this thought in mind he outlawed marriage for young men in hopes of building a stronger military base. Supposedly, Valentine, decided this decree just wasn't fair and chose to marry young couples secretly. For his defiance, Valentine was executed in A.D. 270—on February 14, so the story goes.

Whatever the legend may be.....I want to tell my friends and family how much I love and appreciate them. Happy Valentine's Day!!!
